Marriage Preparation
Congratulations on taking the nextstep in your relationship with God and your future spouse! Weddings at Immaculate Heart of Mary are scheduled through the Family Life Ministry.
Requirements
- Eight months advanced notice is required to prepare the couple for marriage
- Either the bride or groom must be a registered member of IHM
- We follow the Archdiocese of Denver guidelines for marriage preparation. These include:
God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage
A seminar detailing what it takes to have a successful marriage that includes you, your future spouse and God in this new and ever-changing world.
Natural Family Planning
Classes introducing the couple to scientific ways to prevent and promote procreation in a way that is in line with God and the Church.
FOCCUS Inventory Communication Tool
A questionnaire designed to go over key issues that will arise in your marriage between you and your future spouse. It is not a “compatibility test,” but a tool designed to help you and your partner communicate more effectively about what your life-long partnership will entail.
An initial meeting will be setup to more fully discuss the marriage preparation process with couples. Please contact our Family Life Ministry with more information.
