“What is needed today is a church which knows how to respond to the expectations of young people. Jesus wants to enter into dialogue with them and, through His Body, which is the Church, to propose the possibility of a choice, which will require a commitment of their lives. As Jesus with the disciples of Emmaus, so the church must become the traveling companion of young people…”
- Pope John Paul II, World Youth Day 1995, Philippines
High School Youth Program
“The Church must become the traveling companion of young people” – That is what we mean by Youth Ministry. If, indeed “it takes an entire village to raise a child,” then it certainly takes an entire Church to journey with young people as they grapple with the Good News and respond to discipleship.
Youth Ministry, at its best, is characterized by the following five hallmarks: Discipleship, Connection, Giftedness & Growth, Comprehensiveness and Entire Church Involvement.
We, the youth leaders at Immaculate Heart of Mary, are committed to empowering young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ; to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community, and to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Junior High Youth Program
THE EDGE is a complete Middle School Youth Ministry program designed and intended to bring our early adolescents closer to Jesus, the Catholic Church, the Sacraments and sacred Scripture. It involves both catechetical studies and fun evenings!
As tweens, our youth face many decisions in their lives and are often “looking” for answers. They need look no further. The Middle School Youth Group at Immaculate Heart of Mary will guide and protect its young people as they make their journey through life and the Catholic faith.

MEMORIES
by Jan Wood
Amy Grant sings a beautiful song titled ”Heirlooms.” I get a little sentimental this time of year and want to share something really personal with all of you. This song really tells the story of Jan Wood and my life. You can watch it on you tube. I hope I will always be remembered as a person who loved her family, her family at Immaculate Heart of Mary and “my precious Jesus”. No I’m not going anywhere I just thought you needed to hear and read this beautiful song around Christmas time. God Bless
Up in the attic
Down on my knees
Lifetimes of boxes
Timeless to me
Letters and photographs
Yellowed with years
Some bringing laughter
Some bringing tears
Time never changes
The memories, the faces Of loved ones, who bring to me
All that I come from
And all that I live for
And all that I’m going to be
My precious family
Is more than an heirloom to me
Wiseman and shepherds
Down on their knees
Bringing their treasures
To lay at his feet
Who was this wonder baby yet king
Living and dying
He gave life to me
Time never changes
The memory, the moment His love first pierced through me
Telling all that I come from
And all that I live for
And all that I’m going to be
My precious savior
Is more than an heirloom to me
My precious Jesus Is more than an heirloom to me
