Fall 2018 Programs

Our fall program information is here. We have a great lineup of  programs here at Immaculate Heart of Mary, which begin the week of September 10th. So, here we go!

Middle/High School Programs

Middle School Edge (6th-8th grade youth group)

Middle Schoolers are too young to understand their Catholic faith… False! Young people want to go deeper in their faith and we want to offer them an opportunity to do so. ALL 6th-8th graders are welcome to join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm starting September 12th.

High School Life Teen (9th-12th grade youth group)

Life Teen is a virtuous environment for young adults to thrive in, while pursuing authentic friendships. By attending weekly "life nights" our teens will dig deep into questions and issues that they encounter in their daily lives, all while having fun. We will meet Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 starting September 10th.

Middle School/High School Spirit Series (Confirmation & First Communion)

The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of Initiation which seals an individual with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and strengthens their Christian faith. Our Spirit Series program includes class on Wednesdays (6th-8th) or Mondays (9th-12th), a retreat, an interview with a youth staff member, and integration in our youth programs.

Children's Faith Formation

Children's Program Overview

Welcome to another great year of Faith Formation and investing in your child’s relationship with God. Parents, as you know, are the first and primary catechists of their kids so we thank you for the crucial role you play in raising up young saints.

  • Family-Focused Formation is strongly encouraged! We provide material, & your kids learn about their Faith within the "domestic church"--your home! Grow as a family in loving God.
  • For those who want the traditional classroom model instead, classes are Tuesdays at 4:15-5:30pm, and Wednesdays at 4:15-5:30pm & 6:15-7:30pm. Space is first-come, first-serve.
  • Classes for 2nd-8th graders who aren’t baptized Catholic are Tuesdays at 6:30-7:45pm.
  • Classes start September 11/12 and go to May 14/15 (RCIC and RCIT through end of May).
  • Payment: due in full at registration; varies by sacraments, your willingness to volunteer, etc.

Here's a quick overview of our program tracks:

  • RCIC/RCIT (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children/Teens): for all children ages 7 years old through eighth grade who have NOT been baptized or who are converting from another Christian denomination. They’ll be baptized, confirmed, and receive First Holy Communion at Easter. If your child is under seven and hasn’t been baptized, contact (lindak@ihmco.org).
  • CHRISTENED DISCIPLES track:  for children in Pre-K (Sprouts) through first grade. They will learn about God, hear the major bible stories, and begin to see Jesus as a friend. BEGINNING DISCIPLES track: for second graders and all older kids who were not in classes last year. They study Salvation History in the Fall and then study Reconciliation which they receive in the Spring. This program includes Family Nights and two retreats in the year.
  • GROWING DISCIPLES track:  for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who were in classes last year. They study Confirmation in Fall and the Eucharist in Spring, and receive both Sacraments at the same special Mass in the Spring. This program includes Family Nights and two retreats.
  • COMMISSIONED DISCIPLES track: for elementary kids who’ve received Confirmation. This track is vital after Confirmation as it helps the kids grow in the gifts, fruits, and charisms of the Spirit as well as learn to take part in the Church’s mission. ONLY on Wednesdays, 6:15pm.
