This IS … Stewardship
Week 1
Time, Talent, Treasure
Each year in late Fall, Immaculate Heart of Mary runs a Stewardship Campaign designed to bring more to the parish. More what you ask? Well, as the title above states, more Time, Talent and Treasure. The people of Immaculate Heart of Mary have so many different ways that they can help our Church and their community, and our Stewardship Campaign is aimed at getting more people to devote their Time, Talent and Treasure to their Catholic community. How can you do this? Keep reading!
Time
Immaculate Heart of Mary has hundreds of opportunities to volunteer and spend your time building your community. Every ministry has so many people to serve in so many different ways that there is no way we can do it alone. By volunteering you help us provide the services that our parish community needs, in a way that you are comfortable with. We offer a wide array of volunteer positions, each requiring a different amount of time, skill and responsibility. From driving food for our food bank, to answering phones, to teaching as a catechist in our religious ed programs, devoting your time to your Catholic community is an excellent way for you to give back, and is a vital resource that we all depend upon. Our volunteers are a wonderful gift, and we would like to thank those who give their time to the Church.
Talent
Because Immaculate Heart of Mary has to fulfil the needs of so many different people, we have lots of ways that you can donate your God-given talent to the community. Whether it is computer programming, cooking, teaching or musical talent, IHM and our Catholic community thrives on those who share their talents with others. By coming in and sharing your talent with us, or by simply donating the fruits of your labors such as homemade food, clothing or materials, you can be a huge part of what it takes to make Immaculate Heart of Mary special.
Treasure
Naturally, the most common way people donate is with their treasure. The Bible says that if we give ten percent of what we make back to the community, the gifts God will bestow upon us will be ten-fold. Whether its ten percent or not, giving something back is a vital resource for our parish. Tithing not only pays for the staff, maintenance and operation of the Church, but is also the main source of funding for many programs that the community relies upon, such as religious education and adult faith formation. Without your generous donations, these programs could not continue, and we ask that you please diligent in your efforts to give back to the community.
We will continue to post information about our Stewardship Campaign as it unfolds. In the mean time, please remember that without the commitment and involvement of individuals, we have no community. By each of us coming together and doing our small part, whether that be by contributing time, talent or treasure, we create something that is larger than the sum of its parts: we create a thriving Catholic community which we serve, but which also serves us.
